OWH VCMP - Bee's Knees

The ninth challenge for the OWH VCMP is to create a card with a bee.

Card Recipe:
  • Mat 1 (black) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
  • Mat 2 (flower pattern) = 5 1/4" x 1 3/4". Embossed with Cuttlebug "Honeycomb" folder.
  • Mat 3 (blue pattern) = 5 1/4" x 2 1/4".  Embossed with Cuttlebug "Honeycomb" folder.
  • * Mats 2 and 3 were attached together on a white card stock and then embossed.
  • Mat 4 (black in center) = 2 7/8" x 2 7/8".
  • Mat 5 (yellow pattern) = 2 3/4" x 2 3/4".
  • Ribbon = from Michaels.

  • Bee = cut at 2" from Cricut Paisley cartridge; [Bee] found on page 25 of the folder.  The initial image was cut 3 times to give the bee a chipboard effect before attaching to the card.
  • Sentiment "You're the Bee's Knees" = from Scrappy Mom's "Amusing Animals" stamp set.

Love Flower

I created this card for the Our Daily Bread July 2013 challenge.  This month the challenge is stitching - faux or real. 

Paper from My Mind's Eye "Reunion" 6x6 pack.  Edges inked with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

A2 size card = 5.5" x 4.25"

Card Recipe:
  • Mat 1 (dark blue) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
  • Mat 2 (green pattern) = 5.25" x 4".   Mat has been embossed with Cuttlebug "Honeycomb" folder.

  • Flower = cut at 2.5" from Cricut Paisley cartridge; found on page 33 of the folder.  White gel pen used for faux  stitching.
  • Twine = from the Paper Studio.
  • Sentiment "Sending you love!" = from CardzTV "Encouraging Thoughts" stamp set.  Mats under sentiment are hand cut to size.


  • Fence = from Martha Stewart punch.  Fence mounted with foam tape.
  • Small Flowers = from Martha Stewart punch.  Centers of small flowers made from Liquid Pearls.

  • Flowers (with face) = cut at 2" from Cricut Paisley cartridge; found on page 27 of the folder.  Edges inked wiht Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  Flower mounted with foam tape.
  • Face (on flower) = 1/2" image from Peachy Keens PK-490 Everyday Character Face Assortment set.  Pink chalk added to cheeks.
  • Twine = wrapped around flower pedals and taped on backside.  Twine is Friendship Twine purchased from Walmart in the children's craft section.

Sunglasses - You Are My Sunshine

Here's how I created this card:
  • Mat 1 (seahorse pattern paper) = 5.25" x 4".  Paper from The Paper Studio "A Day at the Beach."  Corners rounded 1/2". 
  • Mat 2 (coral border) = 4" x 1".  Mat embossed with Cuttlebug border folder (don't know name of folder.)  Half pearls added in center of embossed flowers are from Michaels.
  • Sunglasses = cut at 1.5" from Cricut Paisley cartridge; <Sunglass> on page 56 of folder.  Green glasses embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.  Yellow glasses embossed with Cuttlebug Script Texture folder.  Coral glasses embossed with The Paper Studio Tiny Stars folder.  Sunglasses are mounted with foam tape and have stickles added to accent center.
  • Tag = cut at 2.25" from Cricut Joys of the Season cartridge; <Tag> on page 80 of the folder.  Edges of mat inked with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint Distress Ink.
  • Sentiment "You are my Sunshine" = from Scrappy Mom's Amusing Animals stamp set.
