OWH VCMP - Peace, Love, Joy

The fifth OWH VCMP challenge is to use the masking tape block stamping technique.  This technique involves placing masking tape on your stamping block and then inking it when stamping.

Cricut Cartridges:  Winter Woodland
Designer Paper:  DCWV "Old World Stack" 12" x 12" pack.
Sentiment:  CardzTV "Home for Christmas" stamp set.

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"

Card Recipe:

• Mat 1 (blue pattern) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
• Mat 2 = 5 1/4" x 4".  White card stock stamped using the masking tape block technique.  I used painter's tape and inked it with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink.
• Sentiment "Peace, Love, Joy" = CardzTV "Home for Christmas" stamp set.

• Trees = cut at 3 1/4" from Cricut Winter Woodland cartridge; [Trees] found on page 37 of the folder.  Trees cut twice to give more depth.

• Mat 1 (white) = 4 3/4" x 3 1/2".

OWH VCMP - Love Card

The fourth challenge at OWH VCMP is to create a love card using OWH Sketch #29.

Cricut Cartridge:  Sweethearts
Designer Paper:  DCWV "Old World Stack" 12" x 12" pack.
Sentiment:  CardzTV "Hugs and Kisses" stamp set.

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"

Card Recipe:

• Mat 1 (black) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
• Mat 2 (cream pattern) = 5 1/4 x 4".
• Mat 3 (black border) = 2 1/4" x 5 1/4".
• Mat 4 (tan pattern) = 2" x 5".
• Mat 5 (black under tree) = 2 3/4" x 3 3/4".  Mat mounted with foam tape.
• Mat 6 (blue pattern) = 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".

• Sweetheart Tree = cut at 3" from Cricut Sweethearts cartridge; [Tree] found on page 39 of the folder.  Edges inked with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint Distress Ink.  White gel pen used for faux stitching on hearts.  Tree cut 3 times to create chipboard effect.
• Sentiment "You & Me" = from CardzTV "Hugs and Kisses" stamp set.

OWH VCMP - Triple Die Cutting

The third challenge for the OWH Labor Day VCMP is to make a card using triple die cutting.  Seongsook's blog provides a tutorial for using dies (which I don't own).  So, I accomplished the same cuts by creating a SVG file and cutting it with my Cricut.

Cricut Cartridge:  Winter Woodland
Designer Paper:  My Mind's Eye "Signature Christmas" 12" x 12" pack.

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"

Nested SVG rectangles:

• Mat 1:  4" x 5.25"
• Mat 2:  3" x 4.25"
• Mat 3:  2" x 3.25"

Solid gray mats:

• Mat 1:  5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
• Mat 2:  3.25" x 4.5"
• Mat 3:  2.25" x 3.5"

• Snowman = cut image and shadow at 2 3/4" from Cricut Winter Woodland cartridge; [Snowman] found on page 46 of the folder.  Snowman cut 3 times to create a chipboard effect.

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"

Card Recipe:

• Mat 1 (light blue) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
• Mat 2 (green pattern) = 1" x 4 1/8" (before punching).   EK Success Scalloped Scallop punch used to create top.  Paper from Echo Park Dots & Stripes "Bundle of Joy" pack. 
• Mat 3 (brown polka dot) = 2" x 4 1/8".  Paper from Echo Park Dots & Stripes "Bundle of Joy" pack. 
• Pennants = cut at 1" from Cricut Give a Hoot cartridge: found on page 43 of the folder.  I cut the pennant tops four times using four different papers from the Echo Park Dots & Stripes "Bundle of Joy" pack. 
• Sign Post & Grass = cut at 3" from Cricut Old West cartridge; found on page 67 of the folder.  Paper from Echo Park Dots & Stripes "Bundle of Joy" pack.  Sign Post mounted with foam tape.
• Sentiment "Many thanks!" = from CardzTV "Heartfelt Wishes" stamp set.
• Clouds = from Fishers punch.  Clouds are inked with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink and mounted with foam tape.
• Twine = from the Paper Studio.  I put a small bead of glue down to permanently attach the twine.
