Cards in Envy Challenge - In the Spotlight

Welcome to another Cards in Envy Challenge!  For this challenge we are to create an A2 sized card (5.5" x 4.25")  that "Spot Lights" an item or area on your card to make it stand out.  For example, maybe on part of your image like one flower or the face you make a circle of light or what looks like a light on just that part of the card.  Only requirement is that the card is 1/4" or less in thickness in order to fit in an envelope.

Cross Twisted Easel

Paper Playtime #80 Anything Goes

Cross Twisted Easel Card using New Testament Cricut cartridge.  The cross is cut at 2 inches and highlighted with Glossy Accents.  Butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch and accented with Liquid Pearls.  Sentiment is from CardzTV "Encouraging Thoughts."

To make this card:

The card base consists of two pieces.  One at 4.25" x 9.75" and the second at 4.25" x 5.5".

Score the larger base at 5.5" and diagonally.  Then fold from right-most corner to center score line.  Like this:

Attach the second part of the card base to the first.

Helpful hint:  only add tape to the part I'm pointing to in the above picture.

Now your card will twist and set up.

Decorate your card and add a "stopper" so card will stay open.

To create the stopper:
  • cut a strip of card stock at 1" x 2.25" (for your message)
  • cut a mat to go under at 1.25" x 2.5"
  • add foam tape under to elevate
  • hold your card open (like the picture above) to determine where to attach the stopper.
