Cards in Envy Challenge - Three Layers!

Welcome to Cards in Envy Challenge.  This time we are to create a card using 3 layers.  But, remember our card still must be able to fit into a regular A2 sized envelope.

Here is what I created for the challenge:

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4"
Paper colors from Cricut Imagine Blossom

I actually CASE this card idea from a card I saw on Pinterest.  Here is how my card is made:
  • Mat 1 (blue) = 5.25" x 4".  Mat has been embossed using Indentz "Vine #1" folder.
  • Banner 1 (on left) = cut background from Cricut Creative Cards <Card 2b> at 2.875".  The banner in front is the same cut sized at 2.75".  Edges of banner are inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink.  Paper colors are from Cricut Imagine Blossom cartridge.
  • Banner 2 (in middle) = cut background from Cricut Creative Cards <Card 2b> at 3.875". The banner in front is the same cut sized at 3.75". Edges of banner are inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink. Paper colors are from Cricut Imagine Blossom cartridge.
  • Banner 3 (on right) = cut background from Cricut Creative Cards <Card 2b> at 3.375". The banner in front is the same cut sized at 3.25". Edges of banner are inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink. Paper colors are from Cricut Imagine Blossom cartridge.
  • Bee = sticker from Disney Classic Pooh.  I pulled one of the layers off to keep the bee from being too thick.   Also, I added an eye to the bee with a black pen.  Bee is attached with foam tape.
  • Ribbon and bow = 1/8" ribbon purchased at Michael's dollar bin.   Bow is tied with assistance from Bow Easy and has been attached with hot glue.
  • Gem Stones (four in all corners) = purchased at Michael's from dollar bin.

  • Mat 1 (blue) = 5.25" x 4".   Faux stitching around edges created with white gel pen.
  • Mat 2 (beige) = 5" x 3.75".

Cards in Envy Sketch #3 - Spring Flowers

Welcome to Cards in Envy Sketch Challenge #3.  This week we are to create a card inspired from this sketch:

Cards in Envy
Sketch #3
Since spring is here, I wanted to create a Spring Flowers card.   I pulled my Cricut cartridges and decided upon Bloom Lite for the flowers and Imagine Blossom for the paper colors.

Card created using Cricut Bloom Lite and Imagine Blossom.
Corners of card rounded at 1/2".
A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"
Here is how I made my card:
  • Mat 1 (blue pattern) = 5.25" x 4".  Paper colors from Cricut Imagine Blossom cartridge.  Corners of mat are rounded at 1/2".  Edges are inked using Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  • Mat 2 (green checkered border on bottom) = 5.25" x 1.5".  Paper colors from Cricut Imagine Blossom cartridge.  Top has been punched using a Martha Stewart punch.
  • Left Flower = cut at 2.5" from Cricut Bloom Lite cartridge; <Flwr4>.  Paper colors from Cricut Imagine Blossom cartridge.   Edges of stem colored with a green colored pencil.  Edges of blossom and center are inked with Memento "Angel Pink".  Blossom accented with Liquid Pearls "Buttercup."   Flower is attached with foam tape.
  • Middle Flower = cut at 2.5" from Cricut Bloom Lite cartridge; <Flwr1>. Paper colors from Cricut Imagine Blossom cartridge. Edges of stem colored with a green colored pencil. Edges of blossom and center are inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink. Blossom accented with Liquid Pearls "Plantinum." Flower is attached with foam tape.
  • Right Flower = cut at 2.5" from Cricut Bloom Lite cartridge; <Flwr2>. Paper colors from Cricut Imagine Blossom cartridge. Edges of stem colored with a green colored pencil. Edges of blossom and center are inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink. Blossom accented with Liquid Pearls "White Opal." Flower is attached with foam tape.
  • Clouds = from Fiskers punch.   Edges of beige cloud inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  White clouds have edges lightly colored with a yellow colored pencil.
  • Lace Border = from Martha Stewart punch.
  • Yellow flower on lower right = Martha Stewart sticker.  I pulled the foam attachment off the back before adding to card with glue to prevent card being too thick.
Inside of card.

Here is how the inside of my card was created:
  • Mat 1 (blue pattern) = 5.25" x 4".  Corners of mat rounded at 1/2".  Edges of mat inked with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  Paper colors from Cricut Imagine Blossom cartridge.
