Cards in Envy - Rev It Up!

Welcome to an another Cards in Envy Challenge!  For this challenge we are to create an A2 sized card (5.5" x 4.25") that has something with an engine - like a car, truck, motorcycle or an airplane - the choice is yours.  Only requirement is that the card is 1/4" or less in thickness in order to fit in an envelope.

For my card, I chose to create a submarine.   And of course it had to be yellow - that way I could sing "we all live in a yellow submarine . . ." while it was being made.

Card Recipe:

• Mat 1 (yellow solid) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
• Mat 2 (blue solid) = 4 7/8" x 3 5/8".
• Mat 3 (blue chevron pattern) = 4.75" x 3.5".
• Mat 4 (blue solid) = 4 5/8" x 2 5/8".
• Mat 5 (blue / white polka dots) = 4.5" x 2.5".
• Mat 6 (blue border with sentiment) = 7/8" x 2 5/8".  White gel pen used for stitching.
• Sentiment "Best Fishes" = from My Pink Stamper "More Punny-licious" stamp set.  Sentiment has been heat embossed.

• Submarine = cut at 2" from Cricut Life is a Beach cartridge; [Submarine] found on page 58 of the folder.  White gel pen used for stitching.  Back end of submarine has foam tape (where it extends off of the mat).
• Starfish = cut at 1.75" from Cricut Life is a Beach cartridge; [Starfish] found on page 65 of the folder.  Starfish has been inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  Mod Podge Dimension added to top.
• Seaweed = cut at 2.25" (real dial size) from Cricut Life is a Beach cartridge; [Seaweed-s] found on page 69 of the folder.  Seaweed inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

• Mat 2 (yellow striped) = 4.75" x 3.5".
• Mat 3 (white) = 4.5" x 3.25".

• Anchor = cut at 1" from Cricut Life is a Beach cartridge; [Anchor] found on page 76 of the folder.  Turquoise twine has been wrapped around and glued to card.

• Mat 3 (red border) = 4 3/8" x 2 3/8".  Edges inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.
• Mat 4 (blue and white polka dot) = 4.5" x 2.5".

Cricut Boys Will Be Boys cartridge

• Sailboat = cut image and shadow at 3" from Cricut Boys Will Be Boy cartridge; found on page 77 of folder.  Red portion inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  Image is mounted with foam tape.

• Twine = from the Paper Studio.  Knot is glued to card to prevent it coming off.

MCCR - Water Things

The theme for My Cricut Craft Room today is Festive Water Things.  I created an underwater scene card using Cricut cartridges Create a Critter and Life is a Beach.

 Card Recipe:

• Mat 1 (light blue) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".  Mat has been embossed using Cuttlebug Spots and Dots folder.
• Water = cut at 5 3/4" from Create a Critter found on page 43 of the folder.  I cut on at 5" that was too small, so I just layered that underneath, which created the multiple waves.  Top of Water is inked with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  Paper is from Recollections Primary Pin Dot Card stock.
• Sand = Cut two at 5 3/4" from Create a Critter found on page 43 of the folder.  You'll need two because one is too short to fit card.  Top of Sand inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink.

• Fish = cut at 3/4" from Create a Critter found on page 43 of the folder.  I opted not to use Layer 2 or Layer 3 for my fish.  Tail of fish has Liquid Pearls. 
• Water Bubbles = cut two at 1/2" and one at 3/4" from Create a Critter found on page 43 of folder.  (top layer for the sand dollar) I used the same light blue paper as the background.  I added Mod Podge Dimensional Magic to top and let dry overnight before adding to the card.  Once is dries it becomes clear and has little air bubbles in it.  Fish is mounted with foam tape.

• Sun = cut at 1 3/4" from Create a Critter found on page 52 of the folder.  Outer edge of sun has Stickles added to it.  Sun is mounted with foam tape.

• Kelp = cut at 1 3/4" from Create a Critter found on page 42 of the folder.  Edges inked using Tim Holtz Peeled Paint Distress Ink. 
• Seahorse = cut at 1 1/4" using the "flip button" from Create a Critter found on page 42 of folder. 
• Starfish = cut at 3/4" from Create a Critter found on page 41 of folder.  I didn't use the layer for mine.  Starfish has Liquid Pearls added.
• Treasure Chest = cut at 1 1/2" from Life is a Beach found on page 75 of the folder.  Gold Stickles and Liquid Pearls added.  Treasure Chest has one layer of foam tape on bottom and two layers of foam tape on lid.
• "Jewels" in Treasure Chest = bling from my stash.  Purchased at Michael's.

• Mat 2 (wave pattern) = 5.25" x 4".  Paper from the Paper Studio "A Day at the Beach."
• Scuba Diver = cut image at 2.75" from Cricut Life's a Beach cartridge; found on page 51 of the folder.  Mask on face created using Mod Podge Dimensional Magic.  Layer on scuba diver cut three times to get different colored elements for fins, swim trunks and hair. (light green, blue and brown).
• Fish Group = cut at 2" from Cricut Life's a Beach cartridge: found on page 53 of the folder.  Colored paper added to back to create eye colors.  Red fish is mounted with foam tape.  Fish image cut three times to get the different colored fish (in red, blue and green).
• Bubbles = drops from Mod Podge Dimensional Magic.
• Sentiment "Fishing you a great day" = from Scrappy Mom's "Amusing Animals" stamp set.

• Mat 1 (solid orange) = 5.25" x 4".
• Mat 2 (checkered pattern) = 5" x 3.75".  DP from DCWV Mainstreet Stack.  Edges of mat are inked with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint Distress Ink.
• Pelican = cut at 2.5" from Cricut Life's a Beach cartridge; <Pelican> found on page 78 of the folder.   Eye of pelican is Viva Decor Pen "Black".  Pelican is mounted on foam tape.
• Shrubs and stump pelican is perched upon = cut at 2.5" from Cricut Life's a Beach cartridge; <Shrubs> found on page 78 of folder.  Pattern paper on shrubs is from DCWV Mainstreet Stack.  Edges of cuts inked with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint Distress Ink.  Multiple cuts made with different pattern paper to create the layers of shrubs.
• Seagulls = cut at 2.25" from Cricut Life's a Beach cartridge; <Seagulls-s> found on page 79 of folder.   Edges of seagulls inked with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint Distress Ink.
