Cards in Envy - Sketch #5

Time for another Cards in Envy Sketch challenge. 

Cards in Envy rules:  Cards in Envy is for cards that fit into a regular first class postage envelope. The most common size being the A2 (5.5 inch x 4.25 inch) OR a square card ( 5 inch x 5 inch or SMALLER). And please remember no lumpy bumpy embellishments. A good rule of thumb is--only one layer on foam tape, no buttons on foam tape, flatter flowers (paper flowers are good), no rosettes, no super thick buttons or brads, etc. If all layers and embellishments together are thicker than 1/4 inch then it's not a card for Cards in Envy.  

This time we are to make a card using the following sketch:

Here is my interpretation of the sketch:


A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"
A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge
Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge
Card recipe:
  • Mat 1(solid brown) = 5-3/8" x 4-1/8".
  • Mat 2 (pattern) = 5-1/4" x 4".  Echo Park This & That 6x6 paper pad.  Edges inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  • Mat 3 (solid brown) = 3-1/4" x 3".  Mat attached with foam tape.
  • Mat 4 (yellow pattern) = 3" x 2-3/4".  Echo Park This & That 6x6 paper pad.  Edges inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  • Mat 5 (stripped border) = 4" x 1".  Echo Park This and That 6x6 paper pad.  Edges inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  • Boy with Airplane = cut base and shadow at 2-1/2" from Cricut A Child's Year cartridge; <Airplane> found on page 69 of the folder.
  • Sun (yellow pattern) = cut base and shadow at 1" from Cricut Create a Critter cartridge; <Sun> found on page 52 of folder.
  • Sun (solid orange) = cut base and shadow at 1-1/4" from Cricut Create a Critter cartridge; <Sun> found on page 52 of folder.  Sun attached with foam tape.
  • Sun shapes together = right side trimmed before attaching to card with foam tape.
  • Accent = brown brad added.

  • Mat 1 (solid beige) = 4-3/4" x 3-3/4".  Edges inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  • Mat 2 (yellow pattern border) = 4-7/8" x 1-1/4".  Edges inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  • Wings = cut at 1" from Cricut A Child's Year cartridge; <shift><Icon><Airplane> found on page 69 of the folder.
