  • Corner = hand cut from scraps

  • Toaster = cut at 2.25" from Cricut From My Kitchen cartridge; [toastr] found on page 33 of the folder.  Image is mounted with foam tape.  Hand on toaster has stickles added. 
  • Face on Toaster = from Peachy Keen PK-642 Boy Mates Face Assortment.
  • Toast = cut at 2.25" from Cricut From My Kitchen cartridge; [bread] found on page 64 of the folder.  Edges inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  Image mounted with foam tape.
  • Sentiment on Toast = from My Pink Stamper "Punny-licious" stamp set.

Mice Birthday

  • Designer Paper:  Echo Park "Bundle of Joy" 6"x6" pack.
  • Punch:  Martha Stewart

Card Recipe:
  • Mat 1 (polka dot) = 5.25" x 4".
  • Mat 2 (solid blue) = 5 1/8" x 3 1/8"
  • Mat 3 (white) = 5" x 3".  Mat embossed with Cuttlebug "Happy Birthday" folder.  Mat mounted with foam tape.
  • Border = border punch by Martha Stewart.
 
  • Mice = cut at 2.5" from Cricut Happily Ever After cartridge; [JaqGus] found on page 35 of the folder.  Noses were made using Liquid Pearls.  Tails were made using twine.  White gel pen used on eyes of mouse.

Inside of Card:

More Minions

The minions are all the rage right now.  I found a great link via Operation Write Home with directions on making a minion for a card.

Card Recipe:
  • Mat 1 (black) = 5 1/4" x 4". 
  • Mat 2 (pattern) = 5" x 3 3/4"
  • Pennants = cut at 1 1/2" from Cricut Pretty Pennants cartridge.  White gel pen used for faux stitching.  Pole was hand cut from brown shimmer paper.
  • "A" "P" = cut at 1/2" from Cricut  Storybook cartridge.



Minion =
  • Body (yellow) = cut at 1 1/2" x 3".  Round all corners at 1/2".
  • Arms (yellow) = cut two at 1/4" x 1 1/4".
  • Overalls (blue) = cut at 1 1/2" x 1 1/2".  Round bottom corners at 1/2".  Hand trim notches for overall top.
  • Top of Overalls (blue) = cut two at 1/4" x 1 1/4".  Black gems were added for buttons.
  • Legs (blue) = cut two at 5/8" x 3/4".
  • Goggles Strap (black) = cut at 1/4" x 2 1/2".
  • Eyes (gray) = circle punch two at 1/2".  Googly Eyes are glued on top.
  • Hands (black) = cut at 3/4" using real dial size from Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge; [Suprgl][Accessories 2] found on page 57 of the folder.
  • Feet (black) = cut at 3/4"  using real dial size from Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge; [Suprgl][Accessories 1] found on page 57 of the folder.
  • Hair = hand cut from black card stock.
  • Mouth = hand drawn with black pen.

Cards in Envy Challenge - In the Spotlight


Welcome to another Cards in Envy Challenge!  For this challenge we are to create an A2 sized card (5.5" x 4.25")  that "Spot Lights" an item or area on your card to make it stand out.  For example, maybe on part of your image like one flower or the face you make a circle of light or what looks like a light on just that part of the card.  Only requirement is that the card is 1/4" or less in thickness in order to fit in an envelope.

Birds on Banner Birthday Card

My daughter turns 40 in November.  Do you know how old that makes me feel?  LOL!  I've decided to make and mail 40 birthday cards to her.  Here is card #1.

  • Birds and Banner = cut at 3" from Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge; [Surprise] found on page 48 of the folder.  Image is mounted with foam tape.  *Note:  The eyes layer were too small when cut to be used.  Eyes were created using black pen.

Cards in Envy Challenge - Now That's Scary


Welcome to another Cards in Envy Challenge!  For this challenge we are to create an A2 sized card (5.5" x 4.25") featuring things that "scare you" such as witches, spiders, bats, ghosts and goblins. Only requirement is that the card is 1/4" or less in thickness in order to fit in an envelope.
 
 I created a Graveyard Scene with Creepy Trees and a little ghost.
  • Designer Paper = K and Company "Halloween and Fall" 12" x 12" pad.
  • Cricut cartridge = Mini Monsters
  • Sentiment = Handwritten "RIP"
  • Punches = Maury (Moon) 2" circle punch
  • Other:  Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  Foam Tape.

  • Mat 1 (purple spider web pattern) = 5 1/4" x 4".
  • Moon = from Maury 2" circle punch.  Edges inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  • Trees = cut at 3 1/4" from Cricut Mini Monsters cartridge; [Tree1] and [Tree2] found on page 73 of the folder.  Trim where trees extend from Mat 1.
  • Fence = cut two at 1 1/2" from Cricut Mini Monsters cartridge; [Fence1] found on page 72 of the folder.  Trim where fence extends from Mat 1.


  • Grave Stone = cut at 1 3/4" from Cricut Mini Monsters cartridge; [Grave2-s][Base Shadow] found on page 71 of the folder.  White gel pen used to write "RIP" and for faux stitching.  Image is mounted with foam tape.
  • Ghost = cut three at 3/4" from Cricut Mini Monsters cartridge; [Spooky][Base Shadow] found on page 42 of the folder.  All three images are mounted together to make a chip board effect.  Edges inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Scrapbook Blessings - Triple Time Stamping

It's challenge time again at ScrapBook Blessings.  Our challenge today is to watch a tutorial video and then make our own creation.  Our video comes from DoStamping where we learn a technique called Triple Time Stamping.  Here's is my card:

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"
Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge
 
Card Recipe:
  • Mat 1 (white) = 2" x 3 1/4".
  • Mat 2 (black) = 2 1/4" x 3 1/2".
  • Mat 3 (white) = 3" x 4 1/4".
  • Mat 4 (black) = 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".
  • Mat 5 (white) = 4" x 5 1/4".
  • Stamped Image = Place all mats on top of each other and stamp using Ditto "Double Vision".  Image stamped with Memento "Rich Cocoa" ink.
  • Separate white mats and layer with black mats.
 
  • Wrapped three strands of Baker's Twine around first two image layers and tie.
  • Flower = cut image and shadow at 1" from Cricut Plantin SchoolBook cartridge; [flower] found on page 76 of the folder.  Add a brass brad to center.  Punch a hole on one petal and string Baker's Twine through.  Tie off in a bow.  Mount with foam tape.
