Cards in Envy Challenge #5 - Stitch It Up

Cards in Envy Challenge - Stitch It Up!

It's the 3rd Monday of the Month.   Our challenge this month is to create a card using stitching - either real or faux.

Here is the card I created:

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"

My card was created using the Cricut cartridges Kate's Kitchen Imagine and April Showers Lite.

Here is how I made my card:

  • Mat 1 (pear pattern paper) = 5.25" x 4".  Paper colors from Cricut Imagine Kate's Kitchen cartridge.  Edges of mat inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  • Mat 2 (light green) = 5.25" x 2".  Paper colors from Cricut Imagine Kate's Kitchen cartridge.  Mat top punched with EK Success Scalloped Scallop.  Edges of mat inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  Sides and bottom faux stitched with color pencil.
  • Hello Frame & Mat = Frame cut at 1.14" from Imagine Kate's Kitchen cartridge.  Mat under frame (beige)  cut at 1.2" x 1".  Frame faux stitched using white gel pen.
  • Apple = cut at 3" from Imagine Kate's Kitchen cartridge.  Edges of apple inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  Apple faux stitched with color pencil and white gel pen.
  • Pear = cut at 3.25" from Imagine Kate's Kitchen cartridge.  Pear image was flipped before printing and cutting.  Edges of pear inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  Pear faux stitched with color pencil   Pear is mounted with foam tape.
  • Worm = cut at 1.75" from Cricut April Showers cartridge.  Paper colors from Imagine Kate's Kitchen cartridge.  Beige card stock added behind worm's eyes.  Worm edges inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  Bow on worm is Friendship Thread (purchased at Walmart in the Children's Craft area.)  Bow is tied around worn neck and glued on.  Worm is mounted with foam tape.
  • Sentiment "Hello" = from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings stamp set.

Inside of card.
Small pear created using Kate's Kitchen Imagine cartridge.

  • Mat 1 (beige) = 4.75" x 3.5".   Mat faux stitching created using colored pencil.
  • Pear = cut at 1"  from Imagine Kate's Kitchen cartridge.  Edges of pear are inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  Colors on pear are accented using colored pencils.
