MCCR - Just Because

The challenge today at My Cricut Craft Room is to create a "Just Because" card.  I created a card with the scarecrow boy from Simply Charmed cartridge.  The leaves are from a punch and are intended to look like he's throwing them.

Cricut cartridge:  Simply Charmed
Designer CS:  K&Company "Ancestry" 12" x 12" pack.
Embossing:  Cuttlebug "Charles" folder.
Punches:  Martha Stewart (fence punch) and Maury (leaf punch).
Sentiment "Nuts about you!":  My Pink Stamper "Punny-licious" stamp set.
Face Stamp:  Peachy Keen Stamps "PK-400" Everyday Character Face Assortment.
Other:  Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"
Cricut Simply Charmed

Card Recipe:
  • Mat 1 (black) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
  • Mat 2 (blue pattern) = 5 1/4" x 4".
  • Mat 3 (black border) = 3 1/4" x 4".
  • Mat 4 (brown pattern border) = 3" x 4".
  • Fence = from Martha Stewart punch.  Sentiment stamped before embossing with the Cuttlebug "Charles" folder.  Top of fence inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

  • Scarecrow Boy = cut at 4" from Simply Charmed cartridge; [Scarecw1] found on page 57 of the folder.  Image cut twice to create chipboard effect.  Image is mounted with foam tape.  Pink chalk used to create his cheeks.  White gel pen used for faux stitching on his shoes.
  • Face on Scarecrow Boy = from Peachy Keen Stamps "PK-490" Everyday Character Face Assortment.  White gel pen used to color in his eyes.
  • Sentiment "Nuts about you!" = from My Pink Stamper "Punny-licious" stamp set.
  • Leaves = from Maury punch.
