MCCR - Christmas Theme

Today's challenge at My Cricut Craft Room is to create something with a Christmas Theme.  I made a Christmas card using the Cricut cartridge A Quilted Christmas.

Design paper from My Mind's Eye "Signature Christmas" 12" x 12" pack.  Edges have been inked using Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

Card Recipe:

• Mat 1 (dark blue) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".  Corners rounded at 1/4".
• Mat 2 (blue polka dots) = 5" x 3.75".  Corners rounded at 1/4".
• Mat 3 (dark blue) = 4 7/8" x 3 5/8".  Corners rounded at 1/4".
• Mat 4 (leaf pattern) = 4.75" x 3.5".  Corners rounded at 1/4".

• Praying Child = cut image and shadow at 3" from Cricut cartridge A Quilted Christmas; found on page 57 of the folder.  I've used multiple layers under the praying child to give depth to the image.
• Sentiment "Unto us a child is born" = from CardzTV "Classic Christmas" stamp set.
• Mat under sentiment = cut to size.  Corners rounded at 1/4".

Jingle Bells

It's Christmas in July over at CardzTV.  Their challenge this week is to create any project as long as it is a Christmas Theme. 

I used the hanging bell image found in the Cricut Create a Critter 2 cartridge to make my card.

Design Paper = the Paper Studio "I believe in Santa" 8.5" x 11" pack.

Card Recipe:

• Mat 1 (dark blue) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
• Mat 2 (red striped) = 5.25" x 4".  Edges inked with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink.
• Mat 3 (dark blue border) = 5 3/8" x 1/2".  White gel pen used for stitching.
• Sentiment "Jingle Bells" = from CardzTV "Home for Christmas" stamp set.  Sentiment heat embossed using Stampendous "Winter Wonderland Opaque" embossing powder.

• White Stars = cut at 2.5" from Cricut Create a Critter 2 cartridge; found on page 65 of the folder.  Images were cut 3 times for each star to create a chipboard effect.  White stars embossed with the Paper Studio "Tiny Stars" folder.
• Pink/White Star = cut at 2.75" from Cricut Create a Critter 2 cartridge; found on page 65 of the folder.  Images were cut 3 times to create a chipboard effect.  Before embossing with the Paper Studio "Tiny Stars", the folder was inked with Memento "Rose Bud" ink.

Unto Us A Child Is Born

A2 sized card.

Mat 1 (blue) = 5.25" x 4"
Mat 2 (beige) = 4.25" x 3.25"
Mat 3 (blue pattern) = 4" x 3".  Paper from DCWV "The Crafty Stack".
Mat 4 (brown strip) = 1" x 4".  Paper from DCWV "The Crafty Stack".
Mat 5 (beige, under sentiment) = cut to sentiment size.  Corners rounded at 1/4".

Baby Jesus in Manger = cut at 2" from Cricut A Quilted Christmas cartridge, <Manger>, page 49 of folder.  I did not cut out the eye piece, I just hand drew that with black ink.

Ribbon = from Michaels

Sentiment = "Unto us a child is born" from Cardztv "Classic Christmas" stamp set.

Edges of mats inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink.

Angels Are Near

A2 size card.

Mat 1 (light beige) = 5.25" x 4"
Mat 2 (medium beige) = 5" x 3.75"

Angel = cut at 3.75" from A Quilted Christmas Cricut cartridge, <Angel>, page 52 in folder.   Use cuts in Layer 1 and Layer 3 only.  The face is Layer 2-shift, but comes out too small to use.   I just hand drew the face.  Angel is mounted on foam tape.

Wings on angel were embossed with Cuttlebug Divine Swirl, dress of angel embossed using Cuttlebug Holly Ribbons.   I lightly inked the raised embossing on the wings with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans, the dress is lightly inked with Memento Angel Pink.

Clouds = cut from Everyday Paper Dolls, page 42 of folder, <Rain> Accessories 3 - shift.   Smaller clouds cut at 1.25", larger cloud with sentiment cut at 1.75" in real dial size on both.

Fluffy stuff on clouds is Liquid Applique that has been heat embossed.

Sentiment = "Never fear ... When angels are near!" from Peachy Keen Stamps PK-331 Our 2 Angels in Heaven.

Stamp on mat is a Clouds stamp from Studio G.
