MCCR - Easel Cards

Today the design team at My Cricut Craft Room was challenged to make an Easel Card using the Cricut.  I created a Thank You card using Cricut cartridges Wild Card and Forever Young.

Designer Paper from Echo Park "Bundle of Joy - Girl" 6x6 pack.  Edges inked using Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Easel Card = 4.25" x 11".
Size after folding = 5.5" x 4.25"
  • Easel Card Base (beige) = 4.25" x 11".  Score and fold at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2" to make the easel base.
  • Top Base = (beige) = 4.25" x 5.5".  Tape to 2 3/4" potion of Easel Card Base.

Cricut Wild Card
Cricut Forever Young
Card Recipe:
  • Mat 1 (brown) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".  Mat embossed using Cuttlebug "Hounds tooth" folder.
  • Argyle (brown polka dots) = cut at 5.25" from Wild Card cartridge; found on page 33 of the folder.  Beneath this mat are two beige cuts of the same image.  I thought it gave my Argyle cut more depth and lifted it from the solid brown underneath.
  • Argyle (pink) = cut at 5.25" from Wild Card cartridge; found on page 33 of the folder.

  • Flower = cut image and all layers at 2.5" from Forever Young cartridge; found on page 73 of the folder..  The top two layers have been embossed with Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" folder.  Center of flower created with Liquid Pearls.  The first has been cut 3 times to create a chipboard effect.
  • Ribbon = from Michaels dollar bin.
  • Sentiment "Thanks a bunch!" = from CardzTV "Heartfelt Wishes" stamp set.  Mats for sentiment were hand cut to size.

Inside of Card.
  • Mat 1 (pink polka dots) = 5" x 3.75".
  • Mat 2 (beige) = 4 7/8" x 3 7/8".
  • Border = 1 1/2" x 3 7/8" (before punching).  Edge punched with Martha Stewart punch.
  • Flowers = from Martha Stewart punch.  Flowers are 4 layers deep to create a rest for the top of the card.  Center of flowers created using Liquid Pearls.
