Christmas Carols

Hello, Friends!  Welcome to another Cards in Envy challenge.  We are creating cards that have been inspired by Christmas Carols.  My card was inspired by "Angels We Have Heard On High."

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25".

I found this Angels and Shepherds picture during an internet search.  I re-sized it to fit my card and cut out the three inter rectangles.  The blue card stock was also cut using the same method.  Once the cutting is done, you just layered one on top of the other and attach.

Santa is Coming To Town

Hello, Friends!  Our challenge this week at Cards in Envy is titled "Santa is Coming to Town."  We are making cards that feature Santa!  All our cards are A2 sized and flat.

Here is my card:

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"

I found this Santa sleigh with reindeer at the Silhouette store.  The moon is simply a circle.  The pine trees and lamp post are also available at the Silhouette store.  My font was computer generated using the Chopin Script font.

The trees in front are mounted on foam tape.

The inside of the card is mostly a repeat of the front with an inclusion of white space for writing.

Thankful For You

Hello,  Friends!  And welcome to another Cards in Envy Challenge.  We are creating thank you cards this time.  Here is mine:

Pumpkin Patch

Hello, Friends!  The challenge at Cards in Envy this week is "Pumpkin Patch."  Make a card using one or more pumpkins.  Here's my card:

I cannot remember the source for the designer paper - I've had it for a while.  The images are all from the Silhouette Store.  The sign and sentiment at the top are computer generated and mounted with foam tape.  I used font Always In My Heart.

Any Witch Way You Can

Autumn Leaves

School Colors

Hello, Friends!   It's back to school time already!  Where has this year gone?  The Cards in Envy group is embracing and celebrating back to school with a fun theme of School Colors.   For this challenge I chose to make a card that I can send to my DIL who teachers at an Elementary School in Oklahoma.  Let's hear it for the Panther's of Pierce Elementary!

I decided to go with a shape card for this challenge.  Using my Silhouette, I made sure that this Wise Owl will fit nicely in a regular A2 sized envelope.

And the card is nice a flat as well!

Stars and Stripes

Hello, Friends!  Welcome to another fun theme by way of Cards in Envy.  We are making cards with Stars AND Stripes.  It can be patriotic or any other theme.

Here is my card:

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"

The designer paper comes from Doodlebug 6x6  Patriotic Parade pad.  The "Let Freedom Ring" is a cardstock sticker also from Doodlebug collection.  I cut three stars and mounted them with foam tape.  And wrapped some white bakers twine around the center.

Fun in the Sun

I love summer-time.  So, I was especially glad when I saw our challenge this go-round at Cards in Envy was called "Fun in the Sun."  I choose to make my A2 card with an underwater scene.

Fish and wave images are SVG cuts via Miss Kate's Cuttables.  I added the faux white stitching along the top of the waves.  Background paper was a fortunate polka-dot that matched my theme.  Green and Yellow fish are mounted with foam tape.

Feeling Buggy

Hello, Friends!  Welcome to another Cards in Envy challenge.  This challenge is titled "Feeling Buggy."   Hope you join in and create a buggy card - just remember it must be a A2 sized card (5.5" x 4.25") and be flat.

My card uses a grasshopper from Miss Kate's Cuttables.  The dragonflies and grass are from the Silhouette store.  Designer paper is from My Mind's Eye "Dolled Up" 6" x 6" pack.

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"

Designer paper is from MME "Dolled Up" 6" x 6" pack.  Mats are cut at 3" x 2.5" each.
Grasshopper is from Miss Kate's Cuttables.  Image is sized at 2" in height and mounted with foam tape.
The scallop mat behind the grasshopper is from the Silhouette store and is sized at 2.5".

Sentiment is from Doodle Pantry.
Mat banner for the sentiment is from the Silhouette store and is sized at .75" x 2".  I used an internal offset to create the inner black outline.
The grass, butterfly and dragonfly are all from the Silhouette store.

White mat is sized at 4.75" x 3.5"
Grass and dragonfly are both from the Silhouette store.

Graduation Card

Hello, Friends!  Time for Graduation Cards!  Here's a simple graduation card made using triangles, circles and squares.

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"

• Mat 1 = 5.5" x 4.25" rectangle color filled with yellow & white polka dots.
• Mat 2 = 5.25" x 4" rectangle color filled with blue
• Mat 3 = 2.75" x 3.75" triangle (just draw three straight lines and group).  Color filled with yellow & white polka dots.
• Mat 4 = 2.5" x 3.385" triangle color filled with blue.
• Mat 5 = 2.245" x 3" triangle color filled with yellow & white polka dots.
• Mat 6 = three .185" circles color filled with blue.

• Mat 7 = four .65" squares color filled with yellow & white polka dots.  The squares were grouped together and mounted with foam tape.
• Mat 8 = "2014" text .47" and color filled with blue.  
• Mat 9 = graduation hat and ribbon.  Image found online and was traced within Silhouette program.  Cap is mounted with foam tape.
• Accents = Stickles on three circles.  Blue bow attached with glue.

• Three layers :  blue, yellow & white polka dots and white, each .25" smaller than next larger one.  Sized at 5" x 3.75".  
• Cap = same as front of card, sized at .94"
• Text = "Congratulations!"  sized at .3"

Hoot Owl Birthday Card

Hello, Friends!  Welcome to another Cards in Envy challenge.  This time we are creating cards using the theme "Winged Things."  My card uses an owl from Miss Kate's Cuttables.

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"

Owl, clouds and branch images are from Miss Kate's Cuttables.  I imported the .PNG formatted image into my Silhouette and created an Print and Cut version.  The layered paper colors were created by matching the colors on the owl.

Graduation Cards for the New Chef

Hello, Friends!  Excitement in our family as my granddaughter Rachel graduated from Pastry School.  She was definitely the cutest little chef in the graduation ceremony!  So very proud of her.

Grasshopper Greetings

Hello, Friends.  The challenge this month with Our Daily Bread is to create a card with an insect.  I chose to create a card with this cute grasshopper from Miss Kate's Cuttables.

• Grasshopper image from Miss Kate's Cuttable's.  Grasshopper cut 3 times to create a chipboard effect.  Edges inked with blue chalk ink.

Olaf Card

Hello, Friends!  Looks like the characters from the movie Frozen are everywhere.  I have to admit that I haven't seen the movie yet; but I love the little Olaf character.   So, I'm jumping on the bandwagon and creating an Olaf love card.

Sentiment was printed onto paper before cutting and embossing
